Gauhati HC allows APSC to declare final results but not appointment till next hearing

GUWAHATI: The bench of Justice Suman Shyam has permitted the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) to declare the final result of the selection process of MVIs (Motor Vehicle Inspectors) under the Commissionerate of Transport, Assam, but no order of appointment based on the final select list shall be issued till the next date of hearing. The bench will hear the IA (interlocutory application) on April 26, 2023.

This IA was filed with a prayer to vacate or modify the order issued on June 27, 2022, passed by this Court in W.P.(C) No. 4281/2022, whereby this Court had restrained the APSC from declaring results of the written and viva-voce tests conducted by the Commission for recruitment of MVIs.

The bench permitted the APSC to declare the final results, but no order of appointment based on the final select list shall be issued till the next date of hearing of the IA.
